Who can operate a payment switch in Tunisia?
Tunisia's banking law (loi n° 2016-48) defines no private payment-switch licence category. The national card/payment infrastructure is operated by established institutions — the Société Monétique de Tunisie (SMT) for cards, SIBTEL for interbank clearing, and the Banque Centrale de Tunisie for the RTGS/SGMT — not licensed as private switch operators. No private payment-switch licence register is published.
